India gained its Independence in 1947 and adopted its constitution on 26th Jan 1950, our constitution reads " Article 15 (1) and (2) prohibit the state from discriminating any citizen on the ground of  any religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth or any of them".  Instead of the law, there is still discrimination alive in this country. People everyday face discrimination whether it is direct or indirect. Equality is important because it protects the dignity of an individual. Several groups still practice discrimination in this country and to the shock educated people also involved in this. I do not mean to defame my country but the truth should be spoken, I don't know about any other country but in India, we surely practice discrimination everytime and every day.
